Driving social change: Mitsubishi Electric partners with LILT

For Easter, Mitsubishi Electric renewed its commitment to LILT by supporting the "Child Care" fundraising project

The ability to create social value grows when organizations work together. This spirit of collaboration defined the efforts for Easter 2026, as Mitsubishi Electric and other companies at the Energy Park Campus in Vimercate joined forces to support LILT (the Italian League for the Fight against Cancer). Specifically, the initiative backed the Child Care project, which provides comprehensive support to children and young cancer patients (ages 0-21) and their families.

On Wednesday, March 25th, and Thursday, March 26th, the building’s common areas were transformed into a hub of solidarity with an Easter market organized by LILT. Employees from various campus companies, including 10 volunteers from Mitsubishi Electric, worked together to ensure the event's success.

The chocolate eggs and traditional Colomba cakes were more than just seasonal treats; each purchase represented a concrete contribution to the association’s work. The event raised 6,266 euros, following the success of previous initiatives held last December and April - a testament to a partnership that continues to grow and evolve.

At the heart of this shared campus commitment is the Child Care project, designed by LILT to accompany children and young adults (up to age 21) facing oncological diseases. Because a pediatric cancer diagnosis impacts the entire family, the program - developed in collaboration with the National Cancer Institute of Milan - offers support that goes far beyond clinical treatment.

Key services include housing in "Case del Cuore" (Homes of the Heart), specialized dental care, educational and recreational activities, and financial aid for medical-related expenses. Even after being discharged, families are never left alone: a 24-hour direct line to an oncologist ensures continuity of care and peace of mind during the transition back to daily life.

At Mitsubishi Electric, the enthusiasm and dedication of our staff volunteers are a great source of pride. Their participation, alongside other campus partners, demonstrates how collaboration can amplify the positive impact of charitable initiatives.

"Being part of the corporate volunteer group, together with other companies on the Campus, was a reminder of how important and constructive cross-company collaboration can be. In supporting LILT, I felt a strong motivation among the volunteers, driven by deep values such as care, attention, and responsibility toward those going through difficult times. Contributing to this solidarity network is always an incredibly rewarding experience." said our colleague Simona Mariani.
