Mitsubishi Electric runs for solidarity alongside Alice For Children and Dianova

Eight teams of employee runners took part in the Acea Run Rome The Marathon and the Wizz Air Milano Marathon to support the projects of the two organizations

This spring, Mitsubishi Electric renewed its commitment to solidarity and social inclusion by taking part in two of Italy’s leading marathons with its corporate running teams. The Acea Run Rome The Marathon and the Wizz Air Milano Marathon-two landmark events-saw Mitsubishi Electric employees running not only for a sporting challenge, but above all to support high-impact social initiatives alongside Alice For Children and Fondazione Dianova.

On March 22, two teams of seven employees participated in the Acea Run Rome The Marathon in support of Fondazione Dianova, an organization that has been working for over forty years in the prevention, treatment, and social reintegration of people struggling with addiction.

The charity run contributed to the project “Beyond addiction, toward new directions”, which focuses particularly on women facing addiction, an often overlooked group that is more vulnerable to stigma, violence, and economic hardship.

The initiative aims to strengthen recovery pathways through targeted activities such as self-defense and violence prevention courses, parenting support, health education, and workshops designed to build self-esteem and personal empowerment.

The journey continued on Sunday, April 12, when six teams made up of 22 Mitsubishi Electric employees ran the Wizz Air Milano Marathon in support of Alice For Children, an organization active since 2006 in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya, with the goal of offering new life opportunities to vulnerable children and young people.

Guided by the motto “From Slum to Job,” the organization supports children through a comprehensive educational pathway, from early childhood and formal schooling to vocational training and entry into the workforce.

The program includes not only schools and basic educational activities, but also specialized training opportunities such as the Alice Italian Food Academy, focused on Italian cuisine, and the Digital Academy, aimed at developing IT and digital skills. This integrated educational model seeks to turn the right to education into a real opportunity for independence and professional dignity.

For Mitsubishi Electric, taking part in these marathons represents far more than a sporting event: it is a tangible expression of the company’s core values of responsibility, inclusion, and care for people. Running together as a team means actively contributing to projects that create real change, while strengthening a shared sense of belonging and responsibility.

“I always run to improve myself and achieve my personal goals. At the Milano Marathon, running with my team became an act of sharing and solidarity, and that’s what made it truly special”. said Francesca Toschi, a Mitsubishi Electric employee.
