Ready for ‘Play the Games’ 2nd Edition

Play The Games, ever since its first edition, has proven to be a valuable tool in raising awareness of the challenges of intellectual disabilities, and, above all, in promoting the principle of inclusion through sport and in educating young people to understand and value diversity in its every expression.

Play The Game 2016

For the fourth consecutive year, the Mitsubishi Electric Italian Branch has renewed its partnership with Special Olympics Italy. We have decided to support its special athletes again in 2016 at the various events of the second edition of Play The Games.

This is a long series of appointments with sport, comprising 21 events over several weekends between April and June throughout the country and divided into the various sports disciplines.

Play The Games, ever since its first edition, has proven to be a valuable tool in raising awareness of the challenges of intellectual disabilities, and, above all, in promoting the principle of inclusion through sport and in educating young people to understand and value diversity in its every expression.

For the second consecutive year, the Play The Games is transforming the traditional national games into multiple appointments aimed at increasing opportunities for participation for an ever growing number of athletes. The first events are scheduled for 23rd and 24th April in Legnano with rhythmic gymnasts ready to take to the floor first, followed by all other disciplines, including football, badminton, athletics, swimming and even bowls.

Our company is taking part in this latest event with renewed enthusiasm since we have long supported promotion of the concept of unified sport, according to which training and playing together is the most immediate way of understanding values such as integration and friendship and of breaking down the barriers that society still has in relation to people with intellectual disabilities.

It is therefore an important project that sees us team up with special people and provides us all with an opportunity to grow together.
