Special Olympics National Winter Games kick off
The competitions take place from March 4th to 8th in Piedmont and involve 600 athletes. A team of our employees will be alongside these special people to support them and contribute to the success of the games.
Mitsubishi Electric renews its partnership with Special Olympics on the occasion of the XXXV National Winter Games involving 600 athletes with and without intellectual disabilities. A team of our employees will be alongside them to support and contribute towards the success of the games.
The Special Olympics Winter National Games, now in their XXXVth edition, are back again this year, scheduled from March 4th to 8th across four locations in Piedmont: Sestriere, Pragelato, Entracque (CN) and Borgo San Dalmazzo. Five days in which 600 athletes with and without intellectual disabilities, from all parts of Italy, will compete in six disciplines: alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, floorball, snowshoeing and sports dance.
We at Mitsubishi Electric are very happy to be able to collaborate again this year on the success of the event: a group of our employees together with their families will be on the slopes and in the sports facilities to follow the athletes in their daily practices, support them when they need it and encourage them to give their best in the competitions.
Not only: one of our colleagues will be the official voice animating the Alpine skiing competitions.
The Special Olympics competitions are not just sporting contests, but an opportunity to celebrate an educational programme active in 200 countries that through the organisation of sporting events dedicated to young people and adults with intellectual disabilities aims to create a new world of inclusion and respect, where every single person is accepted and welcomed, regardless of their ability or disability.
As these games get underway, we can only renew our wish to the athletes to give their best and have fun.
