Athletics, badminton, game of bowls, bowling, 5-a-side football, rowing, dragon boat, horse riding, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, indoor rowing, karate, golf, swimming, open water swimming, basketball, volleyball, rugby, tennis and table tennis were the sport specialties at the center of the first national meeting of the Movement after the pandemic that has given the athletes, companions and volunteers incredible emotions and the reconfirmation of the inclusive power of sport
25 Mitsubishi Electric volunteers supported and assisted the Special Olympics athletes at the Turin National Summer Games
Spotlights on the 2022 edition of the Special Olympics have just been turned off, but the energy and memory that the 3,000 athletes will carry inside will last for a long time.
Even for the 25 Mitsubishi Electric volunteers who were in Turin, the experience was intense and wonderful at the same time, and it will leave them with the feeling of having experienced a great celebration of inclusion, friendship and solidarity.
On the days of their presence, the volunteers were busy with various activities, starting with accompanying the regional delegates to the parade of the Opening Ceremony of the Summer Games at the Olympic Stadium, and then continuing to support during the athletics games and rowing. The activity of support and involvement of the athletes started several years ago and has been expanding ever more, involving even the families of the collaborators, in particular the young generations.
These Summer Games were a further demonstration of how sport is not a simple physical activity but an instrument of human enrichment, inclusion, sharing and brotherhood.
