Sport has a key role in educating young people, also preventing discrimination and marginalisation, as well as developing solidarity networks. That’s why Mitsubishi Electric is working with Special Olympics Italy, one of the more active organizations in this field; a key initiative are the Abu Dhabi Special Olympics World Games in March 2019, which saw a delegation of Italian athletes, some of whom were supported by Mitsubishi Electric through the campaign “Adopt a Champion”.

The project becomes a road show with ‘Play The Games’, a long, articulated calendar of regional events throughout Italy involving around 3,000 athletes competing in 16 sports until the beginning of July. Mitsubishi’s employees will attend some of the dates to support the athletes and help them prepare for competition by spending time and sharing their enthusiasm. Coming events are in Cuneo on 7-9 June with specialities such as bowling and swimming, in Rome on 14-16 June with swimming competitions, and in Mestre on 15-16 June with artistic gymnastics and swimming.
