Robotics in schools with Girls&Science

Mitsubishi Electric partners with Girls&Science for a specialized training program on collaborative robotics, designed for high school students

According to Unioncamere-ANPAL, Italy faces a projected shortage of over 50,000 graduates in fields like healthcare, economics, and STEM by 2026. To help close this gap and shorten the school-to-work transition, Mitsubishi Electric is committed to initiatives that introduce students to STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), showing them how subjects like math and physics are applied in real projects.

In Veneto, we are thrilled to advance STEM awareness through the Girls&Science Project, aimed at creating a lasting connection with the local community. As part of this initiative, we developed a tailored training program on collaborative robotics. Through educational activities and hands-on labs, students gained a unique chance to explore this field’s vast potential.

The program took place in September over two sessions: one at our Vimercate headquarters and another at ITIS A. Rossi in Vicenza. Students engaged in both theoretical and practical sessions led by our experts, visited our showroom, and took part in labs, experiencing firsthand the work environment of this ever-growing, innovative sector.

STEM fields are increasingly vital, demanding focused efforts to equip the next generation for tomorrow’s technological challenges. Through the Girls&Science collaboration, we see this initiative as a first step in our ongoing commitment to youth, aiming to inspire interest, break down gender stereotypes, and contribute to a fairer, more inclusive professional ecosystem.
