600 Kg of waste collected for a Plastic-Free World

Mitsubishi Electric participated in Plastic Free Onlus's “Sea and Rivers” initiative, helping clean an industrial area in Padua province

Across Italy, 11,268 volunteers took part in 223 environmental clean-ups, removing over 133,000 kilograms of plastic and waste from coastlines, rivers, and natural areas. These impressive results were achieved during the national "Sea and Rivers" event organized on September 28-29 by Plastic Free Onlus, an organization dedicated to fighting plastic pollution since 2019.

At Mitsubishi Electric, we are proud to have contributed once again this year, supported by the dedication of our employees.

Aligned with our mission to support the well-being of communities where we operate, we participated in cleaning an industrial site near Cittadella (PD). On the morning of September 29, a team of 43 volunteers—including over 10 Mitsubishi Electric employees and an equal number from MEHITS (Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems)—collected 600 kilograms of waste.

Our support for Plastic Free, both through CleanUp projects and donations, is part of Mitsubishi Electric’s broader commitment to raise awareness of sustainable choices to protect our ecosystems. This effort aligns with Mitsubishi Electric’s global Environmental Sustainability Vision 2050, which prioritizes environmental responsibility as a key business objective.
