Mitsubishi Electric is expanding in Turkey

As part of a strategy that sees Mitsubishi Electric focused on expanding its global activity related to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems on the European market, the company has decided to expand the production capacity of its plant in Turkey.

The expansion will bring the annual capacity of the site for the construction of air-water heat pumps to 300,000 units, with an increase of 100,000 units compared to the current ones, and residential air conditioners to 1,100,000 units, with an increase of 310,000 units. Production will begin in February 2024.

The eco-friendly measures to reduce CO2 emissions at the plant will include better thermal insulation, the recovery of heat from the exhaust air and an efficient use of renewable energies, in line with European decarbonization policies and the trends that are driving the rapid growth of these systems in Turkey and throughout Europe. Meanwhile, climate change is stimulating a greater demand for air conditioners for residential environments, which are increasingly seen by local consumers as essential goods rather than luxuries.
