Community support

Mitsubishi Electric supports the L’Impronta Group to promote workplace inclusion

Mitsubishi Electric reaffirms its commitment to social inclusion by supporting the L’Impronta Group, which has built an ethical, sustainable, and local food supply chain and now provides stable employment for 110 people with disabilities.

Employment for people with disabilities is a powerful tool for autonomy, personal fulfillment, and inclusion. Beyond providing a source of income, offering job opportunities to individuals with disabilities fosters social connections, builds support networks, and enhances often-overlooked skills, talents, and competencies, ultimately boosting self-esteem and psychological well-being.

Promoting the well-being of the communities we serve is an integral part of Mitsubishi Electric’s mission, an effort that must include the most vulnerable among us.

This is why we collaborate with the L’Impronta Group, an organization active since 1999 in Milan and the surrounding areas, working in the fields of disability and social fragility. The Group has developed customized programs and projects to meet individual needs through social-educational, housing, and employment initiatives. This is made possible through the synergy of five Third Sector organizations that make up the Group: L’Impronta, Via Libera, Agrivis, For-Te, and inTEC.

Focusing on employment, over the years the Group has developed a truly ethical, sustainable, and local food supply chain, complemented by services in IT, graphic design and printing, and eco-friendly delivery. This ecosystem now provides stable employment for 110 people with disabilities, promoting an inclusive, equitable model that empowers the potential of vulnerable individuals.

As part of our ongoing commitment to inclusive and sustainable models, we launched a partnership with the Group in 2024, purchasing their products to gift to our employees on special occasions such as Christmas and the 40th anniversary of Mitsubishi Electric’s Italian branch.

During a team-building day, some of our colleagues had the opportunity to visit the Group’s facilities and experience its projects and people firsthand. One standout initiative is BUM – Buoni Un Mondo, a 560 m² multipurpose space in Milan’s Vigentino district that houses a bakery, pastry and fresh pasta lab, along with a café, bistro, and grocery store. In its first year, BUM achieved notable results: the stable employment of 20 people with disabilities and 8 individuals without disabilities, the production of 38.000 kg of baked goods and pastries, and the preparation of over 24.000 meals.

Mitsubishi Electric's support will also contribute to the launch of a new project by Agrivis, the Group's social agricultural cooperative, focused on the cultivation and processing of medicinal herbs. This initiative will create employment for an additional 20 people with disabilities, expanding the social food supply chain with new products, including handcrafted herbal teas.

“The L’Impronta Group is an outstanding organization that, thanks to the professionalism of its staff, facilitates the effective integration of people with disabilities into a stable work environment rich in social relationships. This enables them to feel part of a community through a virtuous supply chain and the production of food that, in turn, becomes a means of sharing and connection for those who receive it. We are proud to continue supporting the Group and, after enjoying the high quality of their products, we look forward to discovering their herbal teas and other specialties that Agrivis will offer in the future.” said Alessandro Magrini General Manager of HR, GA & Corporate Communication at Mitsubishi Electric.
