A concert entitled "Fausto Leali and Friends" was held at the Manzoni Theatre of Monza on the 15th of March last, an initiative organised by the Brianza Association for the heart whose entire takings will be allocated towards the donation of an echocardiogram to the Cardiology department of the city's San Gerardo Hospital.

During the evening, Mitsubishi Electric consigned two defibrillators: One to the Manzoni Theatre of Monza and another to the Azienda Speciale “Scuola Paolo Borsa”, a company which promotes the right to an education, to training and to work, and which has as primary objective the global growth of the person, paying particular attention to social disadvantage and disability.

This donation falls within the sphere of Monza Città Cardioprotetta, a campaign launched by the Brianza Onlus Association for the Heart over the territory of Monza and Brianza, with the aim of increasing the number of defibrillators present in the territory and to train the highest number of persons in their use. The DAE defibrillator distribution project, aimed for the use of laypeople or "first responders", that is non-medical personnel, was established in 2000 thanks to donations of so many caring citizens, of other Onlus Associations, of entrepreneurs and Service Clubs and has allowed for the purchase of various defibrillators, located on basic emergency vehicles as well as on law enforcement agency vehicles and many schools and sporting associations.

In addition to the donation of the two defibrillators, we have also guaranteed a training course for a total of 12 people, 6 at the Manzoni Theatre and 6 at the Paolo Borsa school, because saving life is not just a question of machinery but also of ability and timeliness of response.
