The second "Open Doors to School" initiative ended in June. The Factory Automation and Air Conditioning divisions involved a total of 280 students and 30 teachers.
Project: Activities with high schools and ITS
The first "Open Doors to School" initiative was launched after the opening of the new Factory Automation & CNC Training & DemoRoom at our headquarters in Agrate Brianza, and the Air Conditioning Training Centre at our headquarters in Rome. In the wake of its success, we decided to organise other meetings in high schools located near our facilities during the 2017/2018 school year, to bring students closer to the world of technology and technical subjects. Our company has always focused on training and invests in this area at all levels. For this reason, we have extended the initiative to new institutes, introducing special courses dedicated to teachers.
The Factory Automation Division involved five technical institutes in Milan and Monza Brianza Provinces with more than 200 students and 30 teachers taking part. This important result has allowed us to bring the technical training world closer to the business world focusing on robotics and programmable logic control (PLC) for industrial applications. The collaborations included training courses held both at the company and at the school premises, and visits to the Factory Automation Demo & Training Room at the Agrate Brianza headquarters for theoretical and practical sessions on industrial automation.
The Factory Automation Division donated PLC school kits for laboratories in the IIS Einstein school premises in Vimercate and IIS Giorgi in Milan.
The Air Conditioning Division also renewed its commitment to training, meeting more than 80 students from two institutes in the Province of Milan and one in Rome at its Training Centres. New this year is a collaboration with an important institute in the capital where several courses were held on topics such as air conditioning systems, thermodynamics, brazing and installation.
The "Open Doors to School" activities will resume at the beginning of the 2018/2019 school year to offer new generations highly qualified support to prepare for future employment.
